Please baby, I only drink champagne. Kiki de Montparnasse. Kees van Dongen Style
This is my version of
Kees van Dongen's masterpiece 'woman with cigarette' in which he portrayed Kiki de Montparnasse (artistic center of the avant-garde in Paris).
Born as
Alice Prin on October 2, 1901, she was one of the most iconic figures of the Parisian interbellum.
She grew up in poverty in
Burgundy, but moved to Paris at a young age where she became a versatile artist and model. Her charming personality and expressive appearance made her a favorite muse for many prominent artists such as Man Ray, with whom she had a long and fruitful collaboration.
Man Ray's photographs of
Kiki are legendary, showing her versatility and unique beauty.
She also served as a model for other famous artists such as
Tsuguharu Foujita, Moïse Kisling, and Amedeo Modigliani, all of whom captured her vibrant character and strong presence in their work. Kiki was not only a muse, but also a talented artist in her own right.
