Hans Breuker translates the iconic pose of the Argentinian number 10 into a minimalist street-art composition. The raw stencil style, the powerful black-and-white contrasts, and the recognizable number on the jersey give the work the appearance of an artwork that seems to come directly from a stadium wall.
The artwork is inspired by
Diego Maradona and the legendary moment during the 1986 World Cup that became known as “The Hand of God” . A moment that was both controversial and historic, and that to this day symbolizes the myth surrounding the Argentinian number 10. By reducing the player to a graphic silhouette, a timeless image is created where football history, street art, and pop art converge.
